Edition #2

Will you use your origin story?

In September 2024 Nike announced their new President and CEO, Elliott Hill.

Soon after, a screenshot of his Linkedin profile went viral.

That got us thinking 🤔

This is an incredible and unique CV. But, CV’s tell us a small part of the overall picture.

Take this example about career joruneys shared by LinkedIn a few years ago 👇🏽

In reality, neither of these images even scratch the surface of what makes up someone’s origin story.

An origin story includes milestones relating to family, friends, health and more. All of it vital.

Your origin story has the power to build trust with those around you.

But first, take some time to plot out your origin story and have some fun reflecting on it before sharing it with your team.

Will you remove the barriers?

Two-time Olympic gold medalist Alistair Brownlee moved house in order to be as close to as many trail-running routes as possible.

He saw this as “removing barriers” to help him build positive habits. In other words, removing the barriers = no excuses.

We also like how this links to James Clear’s Four Laws of Behaviour Change that says if you want to build a new habit, you have to make it easy.

What barriers do you need to remove to establish a positive habit?

How do you approach change?

The prospect of change can often leave us feeling a bit stuck.

But there a lot of tools out there to help you think through that first step.

Here's a summary of some of the best change frameworks you can use in your teams and organisations, but we’ve picked out our top 3:

  1. Stakka’s INEVITBL model 😉 – because we’ll help you bridge the gap from reality to aspiration.

  1. Kotter’s 8 Steps – Comprehensive and effective for complex change.

  1. ADKAR Change Management Model – A “bottom-up” approach that can bring people on the journey.

Keep Winning!
